My TV is making me fat.

Seriously. It's like every food commercial is talking directly to me. Who knew that Krystal had so many appetizing breakfast items? However, after seeing their commericals it is imperative that I try it. Plus their chocolate covered strawberry milkshake is calling my name. Anybody seen that TERRIBLE commercial for Denny's Grand Slam (I know, the name should be a turn off in itself but apparently it's not) breakfast with the nanner-puss (again the name should be a turn off) song? Again, it's TERRIBLE but, man, it looks so good. Last Friday, Orville Redenbacher made me fix a bag of popcorn and all he had to do was show me a commercial with a bowl of popped popcorn in it. The power of suggestion is so strong. I can just hear someone mention the words chocolate chip cookie and it stays on my brain until I get one. Even the billboards are trying to make me fat. Everyday on my drive home I pass a Cracker Barrel billboard of three luscious looking pancakes lathered in syrup with a dollop of butter on top. I just can't pass it up...it's like I have to have it. Like it is imperative to my survival or something. Are all pregnant people like this or am I going to be some ginormously overweight anomoly?

Quick update on Baby Still

So, I went to the doctor Tuesday for my 14 week appointment and everything went great! The heart rate was 155 and sounded very strong. The doctor was able to hear him/her moving around and told us to listen for a "swoosh" sound but we heard nothing. She also said she thought I'd be able to feel him/her moving around by my next appointment! I'm hoping this is the case even though I have no clue what it's supposed to feel like. Anyway, we go back March 10th to find out what we're having and to do the anatomy ultrasound. I CANNOT wait to see that little baby!!!

In other baby randomness, I have been so overwhelmed by people's generosity. Jeri Anne has let me borrow her bella bands (which I'm thinking I'll have to start using soon) and the other day Harper called me to come over and pick up a load of maternity clothes! When I got to Harpers she also had a swing and bouncy seat that she's letting us borrow! Also, Caroline is letting us have their pack-n-play. It is just amazing to me how nice my friends are! It is such a blessing and Matt told me the other day that he thought it was an answered prayer since he's been so worried about swinging this whole thing financially. THANK YOU to all those who have dropped off happies, sent cards and let us borrow your stuff!! We greatly appreciate it.

I've been thinking that no matter what I posted next it would seem a bit drab in comparison to the big reveal below, but I think I've found a post that can match a baby announcement (detect sarcasm here). So, for Christmas my mom went a little crazy with the "as seen on tv" gift happies. Sorry moms, it is true! She got my aunt and uncle the PediPaws (in my mom's defense they did request said gift)...you know the one where you put your dogs nails in this contraption, and it like saws the nail down? Matt and I got the Debbie Meyer's Green Bags. Yep. At first, I felt that this might be one of the most ridiculous gifts ever. However, I've recently decided that I should eat some fruit in between the pasta, potatoes, and chocolate and opted to put ole Debbie Meyer's and her Green Bags to the test. Let me say...these things are pretty fun for bags. Basically, you put your fruits and veggies in their own little green baggie and voila...they stay fresh for longer! Just like the box says. So thanks mom for your random gift of prolonged fruit and veggie enjoyment. I'm just thankful that the Snuggie wasn't as popular then as it is now, or we would have for sure gotten one of those!!

BIG BABY BLOG!!!

I've been DYING to post this on here but had to make sure we got all our family and friends informed beforehand...Matt and I are having a baby!!! Well, I'm pretty sure I'll be the one to actually have it but you know what I mean. We are over the moon excited and are loving every part of this journey so far...it's been a long time in the making!! Here are the answers to some FAQ's:

How far along am I? How am I feeling?

I'm 12 weeks and feeling great. I haven't been sick at all and I've just mainly felt tired a lot.

Are we finding out what we're having?

YES and it cannot come soon enough. We get to find out at our 18 week appointment and I am super pumped about it.

Have you thought about names?

Absolutely! We'll definitely use a family name and we're not keeping the name a secret. As soon as we know, you'll know!

How does Matt feel about everything?

He's so sweet about it all. He has faithfully been reading his father-to-be books and has been very attentive to my needs.

What about Buford?

He knows nothing...yet. I fear that his reign as king may soon come to an end. I'm sure he'll still sleep in the bed, get on the furniture, and get plenty of attention from us!

Am I craving anything?

Yes...anything chocolate and ANY carb. Lovely, right? I'm also liking apples with peanut butter, cereal, and pretzels. Sorry Mom, I haven't been eating my leafy greens like you told me to.

Now, get this: two of my best friends from home are also pregnant. Sarah is due one week after me and Molly is due two weeks after me! Congrats to the both of them too! It has been WONDERFUL having them as a mini support group. It's so fun to be going through this with some of my best friends!

And finally...I've already started getting some things together for the nursery. I know, it's early but I found this dresser for CHEAP and couldn't pass it up. We'll put glass knobs on it and use it as the changing table.

Also, this is the bassinet that we'll use. It is a family heirloom and has been used by many a baby in Matt's family. I think Buford thinks it's his...he would not get out of the way when I was trying to take this picture! Now that I look at it, he looks kind of sad doesn't he? It's so fun having baby stuff in the house already!!

Girls weekend!!!

This weekend I went to Oxford for a girls weekend and we had a blast! The only thing we had planned before our arrival was where we were going to eat. Seriously, it was like I did nothing else from the time I got there to the time I left but eat! We hit all the favorites-Bottletree Bakery, Proud Larry's, Yocona, and unfortunately (for my weight) several other places! One of my friends, Kate is having a baby in April and instead of having a shower for her we decided to all get together in Oxford. It was so much fun getting to see everyone...it was like we were back living in the KD house again!

Two weekends ago we went to Jackson to host a baby shower for our friends Lauren and Wes Jones who are expecting a baby in early March. We had a great time getting to catch up with

everyone and baby Will got some great things!

We went to Jackson, MS for a reception/New Years party for my friend Sara Gray (who recently married Drew Jackson) and had a blast! It was a fun way to celebrate the new year!

We left early New Years day to head to Dallas for the Cotton Bowl. Dallas is such a fun city and we had a blast being there. Before the game we tailgated with one of our friends dads who had this bus of an RV. Seriously, this thing was amazing. Speaking of amazing so was the game. First of all because it was an awesome game. Secondly, because I realized that there must be something about Ole Miss football that makes people want to make out. I'm really not kidding. The couple in front of us AND to the right of us would full on make out after each good thing Ole Miss did. There was lots of groping too. It killed me. And for a minute (before I regained my senses) I felt like Matt and I should make out in public or something! Don't worry...we didn't!
